The Roman calendar of 1954 beside today's calendar, September 23 to December 31, 2026, with the Mass readings of each day. Select either entry for its details; the 1954 entries include the full text of their readings.
The 1954 column comes from this project's own data: the Kalendarium of the 1942 Breviarium Romanum, checked against the 1952 to 1954 Gniezno Ordos. Its readings come from the 1951 Saint Andrew Daily Missal, with the text from the Catholic Public Domain Version of the Bible.
The modern column comes from your own missals: the saints and ranks from the calendar in the New St. Joseph Weekday Missal (pages [18] to [28]), and the Sundays from the tables in your Sunday missal. Your missals do not print liturgical colors, so the modern colors follow the season and kind of celebration and are still to be checked. For this test section, the modern reading citations were taken from an online listing of the Lectionary (the Catholic Readings API, which follows the USCCB's daily readings), and their text is shown from the Catholic Public Domain Version, since the Lectionary's own English translation is under copyright. Where the two Bibles number verses differently, the passage was matched by its content and the difference is noted. Psalm refrains and Alleluia verses are the Lectionary's wording and are not printed.
A shaded row means both calendars keep the same celebration that day, or both keep the Sunday.
