Terms of Use

Last updated October 24, 2026

1. About these terms

Project Liturgy is an independently compiled Catholic resource operated from West Virginia, United States. These terms describe use of the main website at projectliturgy.org, including its Breviary pages and downloadable resources. The Narthex forum and other services with separate terms are outside this page’s scope.

The reading resources are provided free of charge. Voluntary support through the linked Venmo profile is optional and does not purchase a book, reserve a future product, or create a subscription to the website. Payments are handled by Venmo under its own terms.

2. Using the resources

You are welcome to read, pray with, link to, and use the website for personal study. Printing and downloading through the site’s offered features are intended for personal devotional and study use, subject to any source-specific restrictions identified with the material.

For Project Liturgy’s own original material, we allow noncommercial sharing of brief excerpts for parish teaching or discussion, with a credit to Project Liturgy and a link to the source page. This permission covers only rights actually held by Project Liturgy. It does not authorize copying third-party texts, fonts, images, or code beyond their applicable permissions. Full republication, redistribution of complete downloadable files, adaptation, or commercial reuse of protected Project Liturgy material requires separate permission unless an accompanying license already permits it.

These terms do not restrict lawful use of public-domain material or rights provided by applicable law, including fair use. Attribution is appreciated for public-domain texts but is not made a condition of their public-domain status.

3. Ownership and source permissions

Project Liturgy claims rights only in its protectable original contributions, to the extent those rights exist. It does not claim ownership of underlying public-domain texts or third-party works. A historical text’s age does not by itself establish the status of a particular edition, translation, annotation, digital transcription, or other contribution.

See Sources & Permissions for identified materials and the status of their review. A “pending” entry does not grant permission or establish that publication is lawful. Separate licenses and required notices remain applicable.

4. Editorial and liturgical scope

The Breviary is a project edition organized around the stated 1954 framework. Content, calendar calculations, translations, and source comparisons are being reviewed in stages. Availability of a passage does not mean that every aspect of that passage or the complete office has been verified.

This independently compiled resource is not presented as an official publication or endorsement of the Holy See, a diocese, parish, or other organization. It does not determine whether use of a historical form fulfills any particular person’s canonical obligations. For such questions, consult the appropriate ecclesiastical authority.

5. Corrections and availability

We aim to provide accurate, usable material and welcome corrections. Errors, omissions, service interruptions, and differences between source editions may occur. Content and features may be corrected, revised, or removed. No guarantee of uninterrupted availability or error-free text is made.

To report a correction, email admin@projectliturgy.org with the page address, date and hour where relevant, the disputed passage, and supporting source information.

6. Responsible use

Do not attempt unauthorized access, disrupt the website, bypass access controls, distribute malware through its services, or misrepresent altered material as an unchanged or officially endorsed Project Liturgy edition. These rules do not prohibit lawful research, quotation, or use of public-domain sources.

Prayer intentions

By submitting an intention, you ask for it to be displayed publicly on Project Liturgy, including its homepage and Breviary panels. You confirm that you are entitled to share the words you submit. Please use an optional first name or leave it blank rather than posting identifying information.

Do not post advertising, harassment, threats, unlawful material, or someone else's private information. Intentions appear immediately after spam checks, and the operator may remove them from public view. Reporting flags a post for review; it does not automatically take it down. We cannot promise that every report will be reviewed immediately.

For a removal or deletion request, contact admin@projectliturgy.org. The Privacy Policy explains public display, storage, and removal. This page is a place for prayer intentions, not a monitored emergency service.

7. External websites and privacy

Links and search tools may take you to independently operated websites. Linking does not establish affiliation or endorsement. Their content, terms, and privacy practices are their responsibility. The main site’s information practices are described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimer and limits

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the website and resources are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. To that same extent, Project Liturgy excludes liability for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the website.

Nothing in these terms excludes obligations or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including any applicable nonwaivable consumer rights. These terms do not require arbitration, waive class actions, or impose an exclusive court location.

9. Changes and contact

This page shows its latest revision date. Material changes will be identified where appropriate. Revised terms are intended to operate prospectively; posting a revision does not by itself establish a user’s legally effective agreement to a new contractual obligation.

Questions about permissions or these terms may be sent to admin@projectliturgy.org.
